Nephrology Nurse Practitioner – Chronic Kidney Disease

  • Ongoing Part Time position – 64 hours per fortnight

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Nephrology Department has a national and international reputation for providing highest quality, evidence based and cutting-edge health services for people with kidney disease and kidney failure. Underpinning our clinical and research capabilities is a resounding commitment to person-centred values-based healthcare.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nephrology Nurse Practitioner to join our RMH Kidney Care team.  

Your new role

  • A leadership role in the provision of effective and timely care to patients with CKD including the care and management of their progressive kidney disease
  • Educate and support patients to make person-centred decisions about their care, navigate the CKD care pathways and adapt to living with kidney failure
  • Collaborate with a diverse multi-disciplinary team, including Nephrologists, acute care team, palliative care services, primary health and community-based services 
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement in our service delivery so that we can continue to improve our care in a person-centred model into the future

 About You:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Achieved or Working towards an approved “Masters of Nurse Practitioner” qualification OR a Masters assessed as equivalent in qualification
  • A minimum of 5 years prior experience in Nephrology and / or palliative care environment
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
  • Demonstrated provision of high-quality patient care
  • Advanced assessment, problem solving, critical thinking and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated role in research, quality and presentation of works in professional forums
