Pharmacy Technician - Senior Grade 3 - Inpatient & Ambulatory Services

About the role:
RMH is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician (Grade 3 + Senior Allowance - TH10 + 10%) to join our Inpatient Services team. Working across both City and Royal Park campuses, you will support safe, timely and cost-effective pharmaceutical care by coordinating daily workflows, leading training and mentoring, promoting teamwork, and acting as a senior point of support across inpatient services.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient Services to coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Pharmacy Inpatient services including discharges, non-imprest review and ward technician services.
- Lead a dynamic team of motivated individuals (Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists) to provide high-quality inpatient Pharmacy services.
- Train and develop others to provide these services.
- Participate in leadership decisions to shape the technician led inpatient pharmacy services of the future.
- Maintain a customer focus for all services within the scope of the position.
- Contribute to after-hours, public holiday, and weekend services.
- Participate in meetings and committees.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Hospital Health Services Support or equivalent.
Essential
- Minimum 3 years experience as a hospital pharmacy technician.
- Demonstrated ability to work with autonomy, accuracy and accountability.
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach.
- Established dispensary experience and skills.
- Reliable, organised and able to work calmly in a dynamic environment.
Desirable
- Existing Grade 3 Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Experience using the Merlin® dispensing system.
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience.
