  • Ongoing Part Time position – 64 hours per fortnight

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria’s leading public hospitals, renowned for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and compassionate care. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) – CSSD to join our Perioperative Services team.

This role is central to the leadership, coordination and delivery of high-quality sterilisation services that support safe patient care across RMH and partner services.

Your new role

  • Coordinate resources and workflow to meet clinical needs, ensuring efficient delivery of sterilised equipment in line with National Standards and quality KPIs.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to prioritise and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and reporting to meet statutory, organisational and Department of Health requirements.
  • Lead and support the CSSD team, providing guidance, supervision and role modelling to Team Leaders and staff.
  • Act as delegate for the NUM during periods of leave, overseeing administrative operations and liaising with RMH, Peter Mac and key clinical areas.

About you

  • Current AHPRA registration as Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of 5 years Perioperative Nursing Experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within sterilisation services or perioperative settings
  • Strong organisational, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritise, manage competing demands, and lead in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to high standards of safety, quality, and service delivery
  • A collaborative, supportive approach that encourages team development and wellbeing
