Supported program for Enrolled Nurses to transition into specialist youth mental health nursing and develop advanced clinical skills.

Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Mental Health Enrolled Nurse to deliver high-quality, youth-focused care while participating in a supported 12-month program. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Enrolled Nurse who is eager to develop their skills in youth mental health, build clinical expertise, and make a meaningful contribution to the lives of young people, their families, carers, and kin.

This is a fixed-term position aligned with the program year, offering structured learning, regular supervision, and the chance to work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

About the Role:

The Mental Health Enrolled Nurse position at the Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) offers a supported 12-month program to develop skills and confidence in youth mental health nursing within the acute inpatient unit.

You will provide recovery-oriented, person-centred care to young people and their families while working as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team. With structured learning, regular supervision, and exposure to acute clinical experiences, this role supports your professional growth and prepares you for a rewarding career as a Mental Health Enrolled Nurse in youth mental health.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide safe, recovery-focused care to young people and their families.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Participate in supervision and reflective practice to support ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to service improvement and evidence-based youth mental health initiatives

About You:

A motivated and compassionate Enrolled Nurse, eager to develop skills in youth mental health nursing.

✔️ Diploma of Nursing

✔️ Experience or a strong interest in mental health nursing, with a commitment to learning and applying clinical skills in an acute inpatient setting.

✔️Demonstrates sound clinical and recovery-focused practice, providing safe, effective, and person-centred care.

✔️Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary environment.

✔️Committed to continuous learning, clinical supervision, professional development, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of youth mental health services.
