Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

The Opportunity:

The Quality Improvement Consultant will contribute to the processes that guide PYMHWS towards continuous improvement in all aspects of service planning, management and delivery.  

The role will be vital in ensuring our service successfully meets our accreditation requirements against the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and National Clinical Trials Governance Framework (NCTGF) assessment.

About the Role:

The Quality Improvement Consultant will actively develop and promote the direction of quality improvement program and foster a culture of quality and safety within PYMHWS with emphasis on consumer and carer focused services and outcomes.

This role will coordinate the development and implementation of a program of quality and performance improvement activities across the service and monitor its ongoing effectiveness and relevance.

The role will also work closely with the Quality and Improvement team to assist coordinate all other quality and accreditation processes under the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and other regulatory and reporting requirements.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate, support and assist work associated with accreditation against the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework (NCGTF) and National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards
  • Coordinate the processes associated with PYMHWS internal documentation storage system.
  • Support continuous monitoring and implementation of serious incident review outcomes and recommendations.
  • Assist with the development and coordination of audits and survey tools to enable service evaluation.
  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives which includes the maintenance of the quality improvement register.

 


About You:

You’re a highly organised, systems thinker who has an eye for detail and can bring others along on the continuous quality improvement journey.

Prior experience in Health (Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker) is highly advantageous.

✔️Experience in National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards accreditation

✔️ Understanding of the application of quality principles and accreditation processes in health services

✔️Highly developed organisational, time management, problem solving and conflict resolution skills

✔️Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and an ability to apply these skills to a variety of stakeholders
