Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

The Mental Health Clinician is a key position within the Helping Young People Early (HYPE) program. The role offers a chance to contribute directly to the mental health and wellbeing of young people experiencing complex challenges, within a supportive and innovative environment.

About the Role:
The Mental Health Clinician in the Helping Young People Early (HYPE) stream provides clinical care and coordination for young people aged 12–25 experiencing features of severe personality disorder, who may also present with a range of comorbid mental health issues. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing evidence-based, relationally informed case-management and psychological interventions to young people and their families.
What You'll Do:
- Complete timely mental health assessments, treatment plans, crisis interventions, and clinical documentation in line with PYMHWS standards.
- Deliver evidence based psychological treatments, crisis interventions, and family/system support tailored to young people with serious mental illness
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to foster a culture of caring, teamwork, and continuous service improvement
- Deliver high-quality, client-focused care aligned with best practice and PYMHWS values.
- Provide or develop capacity for integrated care for dual diagnosis presentations.
About You:
A mental health clinician experienced in, and passionate about, early intervention and evidence based care for young people experiencing severe mental health difficulties including personality disorder.
✔️ Eligible disciplines: RPN Grade 3 / Occupational Therapist, Social Worker and Psychologist Grade 2
✔️ Relevant registration and qualifications (see position description for details)
✔️ Minimum 12-24 months’ experience in tertiary and/or youth mental health and specifically with young people experiencing mental health disorders
✔️ Experience in clinical assessment, risk management, and delivering specialist interventions for severe personality disorders
✔️ Motivated by youth-focused, inclusive, and recovery-oriented care
