Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

About the Role:
The Mental Health Clinician provides clinical care and coordination within the Early Psychosis team supporting young people aged 12–25 at ultra-high risk of developing psychosis or experiencing a first episode of psychosis, who may also present with a range of comorbid mental health issues. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based interventions.
What You'll Do:
- Complete timely mental health assessments, treatment plans, crisis interventions, and clinical documentation in line with PYMHWS standards.
- Deliver high-quality, client-focused care aligned with best practice and PYMHWS values.
- Provide or develop capacity for integrated care for dual diagnosis presentations.
- Collaborate with young people, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure care is evidence-based, inclusive, and culturally appropriate for diverse communities.
- Liaise and partner with external services including AOD, Youth Justice, and primary care.
About You:
A passionate and skilled mental health professional with experience supporting young people with complex mental health issues. You bring a client-centred, evidence-based approach to care, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You value inclusivity, cultural safety, and continuous learning, and you're committed to delivering responsive, high-quality mental health support. Your strong communication, clinical, and organisational skills enable you to build effective therapeutic relationships and navigate complex care systems with confidence and compassion.
✔️ Eligible disciplines: RPN Grade 3 / Occupational Therapist, Social Worker and Psychologist Grade 2
✔️ Relevant registration and qualifications (see position description for details)
✔️ Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the application of clinical practice in the mental health field and specifically with young people experiencing mental health disorders
✔️ Experience in clinical assessment, risk management, and delivering specialist interventions for complex depression and anxiety
