Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

The Opportunity:
The Hospital Post Suicide Engagement service (HOPE) is an aftercare service initiative that has been codesigned with lived experience associates. The HOPE program aims to provide targeted wrap around supports to young people aged 12 to 25 years who have presented to an emergency department due to an acute onset of deliberate self-harm, suicidal thoughts and/or suicide attempt(s). HOPE service provides responsive clinical, lived experience and wellbeing psychosocial supports to eligible young people and their support network for a 3-month period
The HOPE Team is looking for an experienced Coordinator to join a highly skilled group of dedicated youth mental health staff in providing premier youth mental health services to young people.

About the Role:
The HOPE Coordinator provides leadership and operational management of PYMHWS HOPE and is a key leadership and management position within the PYMHWS Specialist Programs. The HOPE Coordinator will work with the Clinical Leadership Team, the Deputy Clinical Director and Senior Leadership to support safe operations of the HOPE service.
The Coordinator will oversee the model refinement, quality and safety processes, recruitment, line management, rostering, budgeting, facility and infrastructure management and other operational tasks for the HOPE program.
What You'll Do:
- Drive operational and clinical quality improvement initiatives to enhance HOPE Model of Care
- Support capacity building, training and leadership of all staff within the HOPE program
- Increase service accessibility of the service through increasing partnerships with local services under the expanded pathways initiative
About You
An experienced mental health clinician who is passionate about early intervention, motivated and inspired to provide a high standard of care to young people referred for mental health support at PYMHWS. Team orientated person with strong values on fostering a positive team culture, committed to best practice standards.
✔️ Eligible disciplines: RPN Grade 5 / Occupational Therapist, Social Worker and Psychologist Grade 4
✔️ Relevant registration and qualifications (see position description for details)
✔️ Minimum 8 years’ experience in tertiary mental health and a demonstrated ability to lead a clinical team, supervise mental health clinicians, and function both autonomously and collaboratively with other clinical and organisational leaders.
✔️ Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
✔️ Motivated by youth-focused, inclusive, and recovery-oriented care
