About Us:
Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.
PYMHWS is leading a bold and values-driven transformation in youth mental health care across Melbourne’s north and west. We exist to walk alongside young people, their families, carers, supporters and kin delivering care that is accessible, inclusive, developmentally appropriate, evidence-informed, and grounded in lived experience. The Opportunity:
The Communications Coordinator plays a central role in shaping how PYMHWS communicates its identity, purpose, and impact to a wide range of audiences. Reporting to the Communications and Design Lead, this hands-on role supports strategic priorities through high-quality, inclusive and engaging communications during a period of significant organisational growth and change.
Our service is made up of compassionate, curious, and committed people. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a creative, adaptable and collaborative Communications Coordinator to deliver compelling content, strengthen brand consistency, and translate strategy into meaningful communication.

About the Role:
As Communications Coordinator, you will support the development and delivery of PYMHWS communications across digital, print and internal platforms. Working in the early phase of the organisation’s growth, this role offers the opportunity to help shape systems, processes and storytelling approaches that reflect youth voice, lived experience and service impact.
You will work closely with the Communications and Design Lead, internal teams and external partners to ensure communications are timely, accessible, on-brand and aligned with PYMHWS values.
What You'll Do:
- Develop, write and coordinate engaging content across digital, print and internal platforms
- Manage website, intranet and social media content to ensure accuracy and brand alignment
- Support storytelling that elevates youth voice, lived experience and service impact
Coordinate internal communications to support staff engagement and organisational clarity - Maintain content schedules, templates, digital assets and approval processes
- Monitor and report on communications performance to support continuous improvement
About You:
You are a proactive communications all-rounder who thrives in fast-paced, purpose-driven environments and brings creativity, care and clarity to your work.
✔️ Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, marketing, journalism, public relations or a related field.
✔️ Strong writing, editing, content creation and digital communication skills
✔️ 3+ years in communications, marketing or creative content roles
✔️ Collaborative, adaptable, highly organised with strong attention to detail
✔️ Committed to youth wellbeing, inclusion and trauma-informed communication
