The Opportunity:

The Clinical Specialist Team Leader is a key leadership position within PYWMHS supporting a sub-team within the Helping Young People Early (HYPE) program. Be responsible for clinical leadership and management, training and supervision of a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals.

 

Provide comprehensive case management to young people and their families and opportunities to provide family and systems work.

About the Role:

The Clinical Specialist Team Leader in the HYPE Stream – Region A is a key leadership position within the Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS).The incumbent is responsible for the provision of clinical leadership and management, training and supervision of a multidisciplinary team specialising in the provision of comprehensive case management and psychological interventions to clients attending the HYPE Clinical Stream.

The role will specifically support the management of the sub-teams of the Clinical Stream and the implementation of one or more specialist clinical interventions within the mental health field, such as psychological, family, domestic violence, Alcohol and Drug, Physical Health, Ultra-High Risk for psychosis, Neurodevelopmental and Eating Disorders interventions, etc. This will occur at a primary, secondary and tertiary level, including, direct clinical work with clients and families, supervision and mentoring of clinicians, and staff education and training.

 

What You'll Do:                                                

  • Support a clinical sub-team within the HYPE program with key responsibilities for supervision, clinical governance frameworks, and fidelity to the HYPE model of Relational Clinical Care.
  • Work collaboratively with the HYPE Stream Leader and Continuing Care Team Coordinator to plan and develop services for young people and their families which are consistent with best practice standards and evidence-based care, and are in line with the strategic direction and vision of PYMHWS.
  • Contribute to clinical training, undertake specific and time-limited project work, and collaborate with research programs to support quality assurance practices and enable model and practice change.
  • Provide comprehensive mental health case management consistent with the HYPE model to young people and their families.

 


About You:

A mental health clinician who is passionate about early intervention and evidence-based care for young people experiencing severe mental health difficulties including personality disorder

️ Eligible disciplines: RPN Grade 5 / Occupational Therapist, Social Worker and Psychologist Grade 4

️ Relevant registration and qualifications (see position description for details)

️ Minimum experience in accordance with EBA requirements for this senior clinical position, including more than eight years’ experience in tertiary mental health and a demonstrated ability to lead a clinical team, supervise mental health clinicians, and function both autonomously and collaboratively with other clinical and organisational leaders.
