Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic and expanding statewide service at a pivotal time of growth. In this senior leadership role, you will lead teams working at the intersection of mental health, justice and community systems, supporting some of the most vulnerable and complex young people across Victoria.
You will provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership across community and court-based programs, guiding multidisciplinary teams, shaping practice, and driving high-quality, evidence-informed care. This is an opportunity to step into a visible leadership role with real system influence—strengthening service responses, building capability across sectors, and contributing to a model that is redefining forensic youth mental health care.
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), fixed-term (parental leave backfill) position based at Parkville with statewide reach.

About the Role:
Lead a dynamic statewide forensic youth mental health team delivering high-impact care across community and court settings. This is a senior leadership role driving clinical excellence, service delivery and system influence for young people with complex needs and justice involvement.
What You'll Do:
- Provide clinical and operational leadership across multidisciplinary teams delivering statewide forensic youth mental health services.
- Support FYMHS Leadership (Clinical & Operational).
- Lead complex case consultation, formulation and care coordination for young people with high-risk, multi-system needs.
- Oversee intake, triage and workflow to ensure timely, equitable and responsive service delivery.
- Act as a senior escalation point, supporting high-quality decision-making in complex clinical scenarios.
- Build capability within the team through supervision, mentoring and reflective practice.
- Strengthen partnerships across youth justice, courts, health and community services to improve outcomes.
About You:
You are a skilled and thoughtful senior clinician with a strong interest in forensic and child and adolescent mental health, committed to improving outcomes for young people with complex needs.
- Eligible disciplines: RPN, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker Grade 5 / Psychologist Grade 4
- Relevant professional registration (e.g. Psychology with Clinical/Forensic endorsement, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Registered Psychiatric Nurse)
- Extensive experience in youth mental health and/or forensic mental health settings
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including system collaboration, innovation, supervision and team development.
- Strong skills in risk assessment, formulation and complex care coordination.
- Ability to navigate and influence across multiple service systems.
- A calm, reflective and values-driven approach to working with high-risk presentations
