The Opportunity:
Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to support and develop early-career nurses within our Youth Prevention and Recovery Care Unit (YPARC) in Parkville.
As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality clinical education, provide structured support to graduate and early-career nurses, and foster a positive learning culture grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed, and youth-focused care. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and the lived experience workforce to contribute to orientation programs, structured learning initiatives, clinical coaching, and reflective practice.

About the role:
The Clinical Nurse Educator is based at YPARC Parkville, with flexibility to work across sites within Victoria’s first standalone public youth mental health service for young people aged 12–25.
This role focuses on strengthening the early career nursing workforce through the delivery of contemporary, evidence-based education aligned with recovery-oriented youth mental health practice. Working in partnership with multidisciplinary teams and the Lived and Living Experience workforce, the position supports a youth-first, inclusive, and trauma-informed model of care.
The role provides a meaningful opportunity to contribute to workforce capability development, service innovation, and the delivery of high-quality care for young people and their families.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver practical, evidence-based education and coordinate orientation and professional development programs
- Mentor early-career nurses and students to build confidence, capability, and reflective practice
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary and lived experience teams to support integrated care
- Promote safe, recovery-oriented practice and evaluate education outcomes to strengthen workforce capability
About You:
Experience in clinical education, training or workforce development within mental health services
✔️ Eligible disciplines: RPN Grade 4
✔️Demonstrated experience working in specialist mental health settings, ideally with young people
✔️ Strong knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and evidence-based practice
✔️ Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills
✔️ Proven ability to mentor, coach and support early-career nurses and students
✔️ Effective organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
